I saw Willie in concert not long ago in Texas…. 91 years old! Crazy to think of him sleeping on my grandmother, Dottie West’s couch as a hungry songwriter trying to make it in this town. Fun fact: Willie cut an entire album in honor of my uncle Lefty, titled, “To Lefty from Willie,” cutting all his best songs, and fought the record label to do it.
