Known as “The Singing Sheriff,” Faron Young was one of country music’s most colorful personalities, and in our family, his stories were legendary.
Faron and my Uncle Lefty Frizzell were close friends, and Faron was a frequent visitor at Lefty’s house. According to family stories, Lefty’s wife, Alice, would throw him out for colorful language, and knowing Faron, that was probably a lot!
This original 11x14” portrait captures Faron with his guitar and larger-than-life presence. Painted in my signature style, it celebrates a true country music icon and a friendship that helped shape an era of country music.
